Outside Views
Since we moved in, much of our time has been spent working on the house (see below!). We also had some time to soak in suburban living.
Right off our deck
right outside our kitchen window
growing in our yard
come to our front door
think they live here
with lights
hanging in our front yard
so many that Mr. Bones can jump in the piles
our path is used by many neighbor cats. We “caught” this one with a catnip plant
there are 5 of them
outside the kitchen window
go outside and you can’t get a word in edgewise
And they say there is no nightlife in the suburbs
It’s a zoo in the backyard.
House Projects
Bryan checked all the cracks and fixed all the seals.
We were so annoyed by the smell of poo in the bathroom (It wasn’t OURS!) that Bryan ended up replacing the toilet flange, sealing a cracked pipe (actuall a plumber did that) and replacing the whole floor.
THe house came outfitted with a 3-way freestanding modular wheelchair ramp. We decided to break down the some 100 pieces and give it to a neighbor who would make better use of it
and waterproofing!
We think the previous owners rented the first floor of the house out to an entire frat house-worth of unneutered male cats. Or at least it smelled like that many sprayed in there over the last 70 years. So we scrubbed all the things until everything smelled like roses.
The house came a top-notch washer and dryer, but no sooner after Bryan replaced the cat-pee soaked dryer vent did the dryer break. He carefully broke it down and replaced the belts.
The house was insulted with fossilized rat droppings. That didn’t work too well. So Bryan decided to replace all of it.
Bryan caulked everything in one smooth bead. Then he did it all over again.
Did I mention Bryan patched up every flaw?
Bryan ‘gifted’ me a weedwacker to I could live out my murderous fantasies on our invasive weeds.
